With vibrant city life and the most breathtaking ocean views, Thailand is one of the best places to travel in 2023.

Thailand Travel Guide

Referred to as the “Land of Smiles”, Thailand is an incredibly welcoming nation full of beautiful sights and friendly people. Every year, vast crowds of tourists flock to Thailand, and yet the citizens always greet you with a warm smile and a positive attitude.

Thanks to its tropical climate, Thailand has stunning natural environments. Much of the country is covered in dense, green jungles with exotic fruits and animals. Another considerable portion of Thailand includes breathtaking islands and pristine coastlines. All of this makes for a wonderful backdrop to a memorable vacation.

Of course, you can’t forget Bangkok either. The capital city of Thailand is renowned for its bustling streets and debaucherous nightlife. However, you can also find numerous temples in the city to fulfill your cultural desires. Trust me. They are gorgeous as well.

Finally, I should also mention Thailand’s culinary scene. From Pad Thai to Tom Yum and many more, Thai food is full of flavor. Just be careful of the spice level. Thai food can get a bit spicy. With all that in mind, it should be no surprise that Thailand is one of the best places to travel in 2023.

BASIC INFORMATION

Language: Thai is the official language of Thailand.

Currency: The official currency is the Thai Baht (THB). 1 USD is equal to about 36 THB.

Plugs: The plugs in Thailand are type A, B, and C, the standard voltage is 230 V, and the standard frequency is 60 Hz. I recommend buying a universal adapter and converter for hairdryers and other hot instruments.

Safety: Thailand is a very safe country. However, you should still be aware of your surroundings to avoid pickpocketing and tourist scams.

The Best Time to Visit

Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is an iconic tourist destination in Bangkok. It features ornate architecture with gold and other vibrant colors.

Thailand has three seasons: wet season (May to October), cool season (November to February) and hot season (March to May). Keep in mind that the weather is generally hot throughout the entire year. Even during cool season, temperatures can reach 90° F (29°C) and usually only go as low as 73°F (21°C).

To avoid frequent rainstorms and excessively hot weather, people prefer to go from November to March. As a result, there are a lot more tourists during this time. Hotels and flights will be more expensive as well.

If you don’t mind the daily (albeit short-lived) rainstorms, go during wet season. You’ll get cheaper flights and accommodations.
